Ji Living Meditation Course Level 1 with Swami Govindananda

14-17 October 2017

  • 8 hour theory (2hours/day)
  • 6 hours meditation – this would include silent breathing meditationand kirtan meditation (1.5 hours/day)
  • 2 hours moving meditation (nurture walk) (20-30min/day)
  • 3 hours note taking + contemplative meditation + group discussion(45min/day)*Before the course commences – there is recommended reading and listening to Swamiji’s online talks and meditation.
    Also to start simple meditation practice.

Day 1

Theory – foundational knowledge and gaining perspective.
-the knowledge of yoga
-the importance of learning to master the mind
-the knowledge of the soul + its relationship with the mind
-balance of physical body + spiritual soul – nurture the life force within

Meditation – start the process of igniting the power within -breathing meditation
-what meditation practice is best in this modern age
-the science of Bhakti Yoga meditation part 1

-kirtan meditation – introduction + its deep purpose -guided meditation


Day 2
Theory – The pathways to experiencing everlasting joy -the qualities of the mind – the gunas
-gunateet – going beyond the gunas
-maya and yogamaya

Meditation – association of the mind -breathing meditation
-where to focus the mind while meditating -the science of Bhakti Yoga part 2

-going deeper in our meditation with roopdhyan -kirtan meditation
-guided meditation infused with wisdom


Day 3
Theory – value and aim of human life
-the specialty of the human body
-the aim of your life on a deeper level
-surrender + the qualities we receive when meditating

Meditation – daily meditation practice & the integration of Bhakti Yoga -breathing meditation
-the power of daily meditation practice to assimilate the knowledge -the science of Bhakti Yoga meditation part 3

-how to start the process of making a meditation space & how to meditate

-kirtan meditation
-guided meditation infused with wisdom


Day 4

Theory – realize your true purpose & potential
-Karma Yoga and Bhakti Yoga work together as a practice
-bringing it all together to achieve meditation and focus as a daily practice -the science of roopdhyan intro
-the role of a qualified master and guru to guide you

Meditation – the yoga of yogas, Bhakti Yoga -breathing meditation
-the science of Bhakti Yoga meditation part 4
-going deeper in our meditation with roopdhyan -overcoming obstacles during our Bhakti Yoga practice -kirtan meditation

-guided meditation infused with wisdom

Though a Westerner, Swami Govindananda lived many years in India learning personally from a legendary Spiritual Master. He specializes on teaching the essence of the great Indian scriptures known as the Vedas, Gita, Bhagavatam and Ramayan. He focuses on the pathways of yoga with the philosophies of Karma, Gyan and Bhakti Yoga.

With this blend of cultures and over 40 years of experience, Swamiji brings extraordinary clarity to the complex and timeless philosophies of India, making this knowledge easy to understand in a way that has rarely been seen in the West. He is a modern Holy man for today’s times – a bright light for one and all. Swamiji established the Bhakti Meditation Centre in 1990, a nonprofit charity organization. And as an extension of this he has introduced Ji Living to enable a broader spectrum of people to find inspiration, understanding and purpose in their lives.
